HELP OFFERED

Child Care for Healthcare Professionals and First Responders

The United Way Early Learning Center at Kaune (Located at 1409 Monterey Dr), is now accepting offers childcare for healthcare professionals and first responders. Care is available for children ages six-weeks to ten years old, from 7:30 am until 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. To apply please CLICK HERE to fill out the application online, or call 505-303-3946 with questions.

Careful precautions are in place to keep all staff, families, and children safe from unnecessary exposure:

  • Taking temperatures daily of children and staff
  • Hyper-sanitation of the facility, toys, and materials
  • Staff wearing scrubs while at school
  • Regular washing of hands and toys during the day
  • Limiting people in the building – sign in and out of children takes place outside
  • Limiting classrooms to no more than ten children


Child Care for Essential Workers

Are you an Essential Worker in Santa Fe and have a child who is 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 years of age and need FREE childcare for the time being? Call Nicole at La Petite Academy in Santa Fe (505.827.4282) for instructions. An application is required. La Petite Academy is located across the street from Meow Wolf. This offer is for Essential workers only.

Food Resources

FOOD FOR KIDS
Santa Fe Public Schools distributes breakfasts and lunches at seven different area schools every weekday between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm for school-aged and younger children. Drive-through meal pickup is available at Chaparral, Kearny, Sweeney and Ramirez Thomas Elementary School, Aspen Middle School, Santa Fe High School and Capital High Schools.

Presbyterian Santa Fe Medical Center offers free snacks to children from 9:00 – 11:00 am and free lunches from 11:00 am – 2:30 pm. 

FOR FAMILIES AND ADULTS IN NEED
The Food Depot provides three weekly drive-through food distribution centers for area adults and families. 

FOR THE DISABLED
The Food Depot’s partner, Kitchen Angels, offers meal deliveries to homebound folks. To determine if you’re eligible, call 505-471-7780.

FOR HOMEBOUND SENIORS
Meals on Wheels: While the city has closed meal distributions at senior centers, Meals on Wheels still delivers. Call 505-955-4721 for enrollment information.

WIFI & Internet Resources

All 3 branches of the Santa Fe Public Library are keeping their WiFi on and allowing people to park in their parking lots from 7:00 am – 8:00 pm. People must stay in their cars.  Of course, if you’re reading this, you probably don’t need it, but if you know others, especially with kids who need to get online for school, please pass it on!

All Xfinity WiFi Public Hotspots are now open to everyone on the “xfinitywifi” SSID. Public hotspots can be found in small/medium businesses and outdoors in commercial areas. Non-Xfinity subscribers need to accept Terms and Conditions to access the network and repeat when requested to continue to receive free unlimited access.

FOR ARTISTS: In times of crisis, artists are often among those most affected. In addition to health concerns, this is a challenging moment for many in our community as we deal with cancelled income and trying to make plans during uncertain times. Creative Capital has created a list of resources for artists working in all disciplines, as well as arts philanthropists, and arts professionals.

SANTA FE MUTUAL AID  – This effort is being coordinated by Raashan Ahmad/Beth Gutelius and organizers with Earth Care YUCCA/Red Nation/Santa Fe DSA/Fathers NM. EC YUCCA has shifted its climate organizing campaign to focus on mutual aid and is helping to staff this effort.  Matching donors of services or items to those in need.

HELP NEEDED

La Familia Medical Center helps some of Santa Fe’s most vulnerable people with non-COVID related illness and disease. The clinic has been in overdrive adapting to the new reality and taking precautions to protect its patients and staff. The clinic is asking for donations, such as cloth face masks, which it will provide to homeless and vulnerable patients.

Food Depot is asking for financial contributions which can be used to buy food from distributors at a steep discount. They are not accepting food donations right now for obvious health reasons. 

Santa Fe Community Foundation launches COVID-19 Response Fund to address critical gaps in food security and income during this unprecedented time.

Christus St. Vincent Hospital and Presbyterian Hospital are in need of medical and cleaning supplies. If businesses or individuals have any of the following in stock, consider donating to the hospitals as they tackle the COVID-19 crisis and work to keep New Mexico families safe and healthy.  Gloves, Masks (all types), Bunny Suits, Liquid Cleaning Supplies (disinfectants like Clorox, Pine Sol, etc.)

Temporary Housing needed for Healthcare Professionals who are quarantined away from their family to protect them. AirBnB property owners may be in a unique position to help.
