Pecos and Rowe lie at the base of the Sangre de Cristo mountains and are a short drive from downtown Santa Fe. These small towns have long histories dating back to the Pecos tribe that occupied the area before Spanish settlers took over and erected the now famous mission at the center of the Pecos National Historical Park.
