Cav is excited about his real estate career and his recent move to Barker Realty | Christie’s International Real Estate. “After 17 years with another company, I decided it was time to take David Barker up on his invitation to join the Barker family,” Cav says. “He made me feel like a part of the team immediately, and his interest in me personally and professionally has made the transition easy and prosperous.”
After graduating from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in Economics, Cav lived for several years in Manhattan, New York until a friend from Maine called and asked if he wanted to drive to Santa Fe. The timing was perfect! He arrived here in March of 1994 and “I’ve never looked back”. A few years later he met his wife, Sunshine, and his roots in Santa Fe became firmly planted. Upon arriving in Santa Fe, Cav began working for the iconic Coyote Cafe first as a waiter then as a manager. “I believe that my years in the restaurant industry made me the Realtor I am today. I still enjoy working hard to make my clients feel special and well served.”
There are many aspects of being a Realtor that are gratifying to Cav. “Being a reliable source of current information about the market and the process of buying and selling is key,” Cav notes. “Buyers new to the area are often surprised by the diversity of Santa Fe. Even people who have lived here for years are surprised by the many neighborhoods and parts of town they were not aware of. Sellers need accurate market information and what the competition is for their home.”
Cav has always taken great pride in the level of service he provides to his clients. “The support I’ve found at Barker Realty has helped me take my service up a notch,” he comments enthusiastically, “and they have the desire, experience and tools to help me take my business to the next level. Passionate about being a father and a husband Cav says, “Raising two incredible children is the hardest job I’ve ever loved! My wife and I work hard at family.” Their son, Jesse, is in the 8th grade at Mandela International Bachelorette School and their daughter, Isabella, is in the 6th grade at Eldorado Community School.
