“Real estate is unique, fulfilling and interesting… no two days in our profession are ever the same!”
Over the past 17 years, Gary Hall and Meleah Artley have thrived as a real estate team because they love it. “Every day is different,” Meleah says. “Solving problems successfully is a great source of gratification for us. Buying or selling a home is an exciting time in someone’s life — not only does it change their every day life, it is also a major financial decision. The service we provide makes such a difference in people’s lives and, in the process, enhances our own.”
Gary chimes in, “We really enjoy people. Everyone has a story and we love hearing about their backgrounds, their lives and their passions. People are fascinating! When you’re a Realtor, you get to spend extended time with each one and most often they become good friends.” Meleah and Gary find their team approach works very well for their clients because one of them is always available.
Gary and Meleah have lived in Santa Fe for 27 and 20 years respectively. Gary and his wife Melinda K. Hall, an artist showing at Giacobbe-Fritz gallery, moved to Santa Fe for the art community and the European quality of life. Gary says it is “the closest you will find in the United States.” Meleah moved here for the art, culture and weather.
This dynamic team has been with Barker Realty | Christie’s International Real Estate for many years. “We were drawn by the fact that Barker is an independent firm, not part of a corporation, and decisions can be made to adjust quickly,” Gary comments. “No matter what’s going on in the world or with our transactions, it’s such a joy to walk in the door,” Meleah adds. “The Barker team is a sharing group — upbeat, positive and joyful. The support we receive from our fellow brokers and support staff is beyond compare, and the IT and marketing department is incredible. Everything is done quickly and in-house with no long delays.”
The Christie’s International Real Estate affiliation is highly beneficial to Gary and Meleah when listing and marketing luxury homes. “Their name recognition and global marketing platform help us expand our reach to an international level for our clients,” remarks Gary.
Prior to their real estate careers, Meleah and Gary both had professions in which the experience they gained became incredibly beneficial to real estate sales — Meleah was a paralegal and Gary was in the service industry, owning restaurants and bars. Gary also has a degree in finance from SMU and Meleah has her degree from Stephens College in Psychology.
