Gwen Gilligan has been active in the real estate market in Santa Fe since 1980 when she managed a real estate sales office. She has been a licensed Realtor in sales since 1988.
She first arrived in Santa Fe in August of 1973. Gwen’s involvement with our local schools over the years in connection with her now grown daughter Johanna and her son Patrick have given her an added understanding and appreciation for what it is truly like to live and grow up in Santa Fe
Gwen’s volunteer commitments include a long time stint as a reading volunteer with HOSTS, a reading program for elementary school age children as well as years of membership on the Buckaroo Ball committee. She is also a past board member of the Santa Fe Association of Realtors.
Her commitment to her clients is evident in her thorough and professional approach. She enjoys the business of helping people find homes and is very detail-oriented for the follow-through this profession requires. “Real estate seems to suit me,” says Gwen. “The constant change is invigorating — it’s a business that is never stagnant. You learn something new with every transaction and you have to be open to the process. The biggest danger is when you think you know everything, because sure enough that approach will jump up and bite you. Also, it doesn’t hurt at all to have a good sense of humor!”
When she is not selling real estate or spending time with her family, Gwen may be found singing with the Santa Fe Women’s Ensemble, a professional classical chorale group which she has been a member of for over 20 years. Gwen was raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and graduated from Bennington College in Vermont before venturing out west to Santa Fe.
