“I am so enchanted with the life I have in Santa Fe!”
Renata’s exuberance for life and her grateful spirit are evident from the moment you meet. Her tricultural heritage of Spanish, Lebanese and Italian instilled in her a deep appreciation for family. She grew up in Sao Paulo, Brazil and was taught a very strong work ethic from her father whose career was in corporate advertising and marketing.
Following her deep desire to learn English, Renata left Brazil when she was 18 and moved to Telluride to live with family friends for an immersive experience. “Life outside of Brazil was so amazing to me,” Renata exclaims. “I had never seen snow before, and the rugged mountains took my breath away. And the quiet! Having lived my entire life in a noisy city, it took me a while to be able to sleep with such quietness engulfing me. Now it soothes my soul.”
Exploring her career options, Renata was initially drawn to pursuing a degree in art. Her America family mentioned the heavy art influence in Santa Fe and suggested an exploratory visit. “From the moment I arrived, I fell in love with Santa Fe. During my first visit, I decided to live here — a wise decision as I met my wonderful husband soon after moving! Eighteen years later the love I have for our town has never dissipated, and I am so enchanted with the life I have created here. My husband, Solar, and I have been married for 17 years and I love him more today than ever. Family is everything to me and spending time with my 10 and 7-year-old children nourish me on such a deep level.”
“My dream has always been to move my parents from Sao Paulo to Santa Fe and provide for them. I realized I wouldn’t be able to fulfill that dream as a watercolor artist and made a decision to study business, in which I have always had a keen interest and aptitude.” Renata’s BA in Business and Human Resources from the Anderson School of Management at UNM allowed her to excel in various positions within local companies, and later to start a beautiful family while working as a business consultant from home. As Renata’s children got a little older, she began to explore transitioning into a career in real estate. “A close friend of mine is a top broker in Santa Fe. He encouraged me to go into real estate sales, recognizing my personality and drive are ideal components for a successful career. I quickly became entranced and I’ve never looked back! The combination of utilizing my knowledge in business and the close human interaction is unbeatable.”
“My recent move to Barker Realty provides the support I needed to upgrade my business by helping people on a deeper level and marketing their homes better. The transaction and listing coordinators allow me to do more business without the need to hire an assistant. The level of care, collaboration, and innovation here are unmatched. I’m grateful for everything I’ve learned in the last few years, and yet at Barker, I feel like I will soar!”
