Barbara grew up in Aspen, Colorado, but Santa Fe was where she and her family visited every time they had a chance. They eventually moved to Santa Fe to enjoy the high desert, a more extensive mix of people, archaeological sites such as Bandelier, museums, the opera, skiing at the Ski Basin and Taos, and so much more. Since then, Barbara has lived in Mexico and Central America, Western Washington State, Arizona, and Chicago–but New Mexico’s blue skies, mountains and deserts, people, art and culture have won out.
Before real estate, Barbara studied wilderness leadership, went to art school, to law school for a year, and taught kindergarten and first grade. She cleaned boats, painted apartment buildings, played in jazz and blues bands, and traveled in Latin America and the Caribbean.
She attended Aspen High School, Colorado Rocky Mountain School, Instituto Allende, Prescott College, Western Washington University and UNM.
Barbara enjoys Spanish, skiing, river rafting, hiking, geology, history, gardening, music, and the company of her dogs and cats.
With 15 years of real estate experience and 35 years of living in Santa Fe, Tesuque and Cerrillos, Barbara knows the vicinity well. She works in all areas and price ranges, land, homes, and ranches. She particularly enjoys rural areas and historic villages, including Tesuque, Nambe, Dixon, Embudo, Pilar, Galisteo/Lamy, Cerrillos/Madrid, Highway 14/42, and the 285 corridor, as well as horse properties and all properties in “town.”
Barbara seeks to provide an honest professionalism and capability; knowledge of geography, market conditions, and local custom; good follow-through; compassion and empathy as needed; matter-of-fact assistance in any case.
